Spoiler (show / hide)
Bein installation ein collected error
Spoiler (show / hide)

Apologies for writing in English. You wouldn't want to read my dreadful German.

I flashed the MLD Pi image to a 16GB MicroSD card and then installed that within MLD to the same card.  I can't seem to get any of my DVB-T/T2 tuners - 2 x Dibcom (Hauppauge dual/diversity USB stick), PCTV 290e or August T210 - recognised to do a channel scan.  Every time I get
Code: [Select]
Stopping VDR
done
w_scan version 20120605 (compiled for DVB API 5.4)
using settings for UNITED KINGDOM
DVB aerial
DVB-T GB
scan type TERRESTRIAL, channellist 6
output format vdr-1.6
output charset 'UTF-8', use -C <charset> to override
Info: using DVB adapter auto detection.
main:3220: FATAL: ***** NO USEABLE TERRESTRIAL CARD FOUND. *****
Please check wether dvb driver is loaded and
verify that no dvb application (i.e. vdr) is running.
Starting VDR

Any advice - do I need to install a DVB driver paket ?

Thought I'd Telnet in to see and "opkg install dvb" returns the following :
Code: [Select]
opkg install dvb
Package dvb (1:2015.03.03-114_3.19.0.147) installed in root is up to date.
Configuring i2c.
modprobe: can't load module i2c-dev (kernel/drivers/i2c/i2c-dev.ko): invalid module format
Collected errors:
 * pkg_run_script: package "i2c" postinst script returned status 1.
 * opkg_configure: i2c.postinst returned 1.

Hello noggin72,

could you please post the output of *dmesg* and *lsusb -v*
If you only have one stick attached at a time please do this for each DVB-T stick.

Regards, Paul

Think the DVB devices are Bus 001 Device 006 as they are the only devices that change?  I have a USB powered hub and a Windows Media Center IR receiver plugged in, as well as a small keyboard.

If you look at the output of dmesg then you will see lines with disagrees about version of symbol module_layout:
Code: [Select]

The problem is that the kernel for raspberry pi 2 is different in regards to the earlier raspberries. The MLD team is working on this issue and will most likely come up with a special build for raspberry pi 2. As you experienced yourself the DVB drivers don't work right now.
You can see if the DVB driver works by typing
Code: [Select]
MLD> ls /dev/dvb/adapter0/
demux0     dvr0       frontend0
MLD>

If you get an error message then no DVB device was created.

Furthermore you can check if  you look at the dmesg output for usb 1-5: DVB: registering adapter 1 frontend 0 (Afatech AF9013)...
Code: [Select]
usb 1-5: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-pci

Would that be related to the i2c errors I posted in my earlier post?

Totally understand that it's early days though - good luck with the bug hunting!

Because I really want to trial VDR on a Pi / Pi 2 I tried the same 4.0.1 install on a Pi B (512MB) I also have.

The Dibcom-based Nova-T DT Diversity was recognised - but I don't think all is well.

dmesg : http://pastebin.com/EgJL2Y4K

ls /dev/dvb shows adapter0 as you would expect, but ls /dev/dvb/adapter0 only shows demux0,dvr0 and demux0 with no frontend0 - so there is something wrong there?

lsusb -v :
Code: [Select]
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9512
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0424:ec00
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04d9:1203
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 05e3:0608
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 2040:9580
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 147a:e03e

So even on a Pi there are issues at the moment with the current 4.0.1 build?

My PCTV 290e is recognised as a USB device, but not as a DVB-T/T2 tuner (the drivers for the 290e have been in the kernel since 3.0?).
