Hi,

the best way is to use the nfs-client package. There for you must create a nfs share on your NAS. Then you can mount the share in the webif setup.

If you use the MLD client and MLD server images, the client will automatically mount the server share.

Hi,

in the MLD you can find all data (tv, music, photo, video) at /data/... All devices are mount to /mnt/... Your network share also. /data/tv (the VDR recordings dir) is a soft link to /mnt/data/tv. If your network share contains only VDR recordings, you can mount it to /mnt/data/tv. There for you must change the mount destination in the /etc/fstab. If you don't know how, please post yout /etc/fstab, than I will give change it for you.

As my server is not always on, i will mount the server recordings on client on subdirectory /data/tv/server_recordings using autofs package.
like this, my vdr client wont crash if the server is shutdown.
do you think my approach is right ? or did i miss something ?
thank you

No, that is OK.
You can also use the mergerfs package. If you install this, it is possible to merge several data dirs. So you don't need to use a subderectory for your server recordings, and if the server is available, recordings of your client will be stored on the server.

Install avahi-linker on server and client. Subdirectorys will share and mount automatically. Before you must remove the nfs-client package from your client.

Thank you for your answers.
I cant find mergefs on packages list of RPI2.
For avahi-linker, as its the first time i hear about it, can you please tell me how to configure it step-by-step. I cannot find a good HowTo on google. Also as my server is running Ubuntu 14.04 i cant find a package named avahi-linker.
Thx

Avahi-linker is a phyton-script from VDR-User seahawk1986. You find the sources and a little documentation here and a documentation only in german here.
