Hello,
Here is the scenario i have:

- MLD 5.4 Stable Rpi3 + Technisat Skystar USB HD

Network problem occurs which means that webif + ssh will not work.

- MLD 5.4 Stable Rpi3
(Without Technisat Skystar USB HD)
webif + ssh are working properly.

Any help will be appreciated.

Best regards.

MLD 5.4 Stable Rpi3: Network problem
« Reply #1 on: November 24, 2018, 16:19:15 »
That problem didn't occur when tested MLD 5.3 Stable.
I was satisfied using it so far however HD channels got picture distortion or green color.  :(
Is there any fix for that in order to downgrade to MLD 5.3?

Maybe your power supply is to weak or the cable from the power supply to the RPI is to thin. Or you need an extra power supply for the dvb receiver.
MLD 5.5 - Raspberry PI - 7" Touch TFT - Squeeze Play
MLD 5.5 - lirc yaUsbIR - OctopusNet - XFX GeForce 9300 mit Intel E3200 - 2GB RAM - 12TB HDD - Lian Li PC-C37B - Samsung LE40A559

Thanks for replying @claus
I have Rapberry Pi original power supply 5.1V @ 2.5A
+
Technisat Skystar USB HD original USB cable and original power supply 12V
Which works fine using Raspbian and LibreELEC
I didn't experience that HD channels stuttering or green color.
It only occurs with MLD 5.3 (network works fine)
If i use MLD 5.4 HD channels works fine but network doesn't work.

I have a doubt that dvb driver for Technisat skystar usb hd causes network problem on MLD 5.4
Because network works fine on MLD 5.3 using dvb-mb driver
Could you please upload dvb-mb driver for MLD 5.4?

No, it's unfortunately not possible to build the dvb-mb drivers vor the MLD-5.4. That drivers are to old for the kernel of the MLD-5.4

Oh, too bad  :(
Yesterday i switched to MLD 5.3 in order to fix Hd channels green color.
I upgraded xorg from testing class so dvb-mb driver was removed during the update process.
I had to install dvb driver to make my dvb receiver work then network problem occured again.
That's why i suspect that dvb driver causes that issue.

Is there anyway to debug the problem without network?

Does after installation of the dvb driver package, the network-drivers package is also installed?

I moved to MLD 5.4 right away after facing the same problem so i don't remember.
Anyway please check the following log, i powered my rpi without dvb receiver ... waited for MLD to load then attached the dvb receiver however there is a problem loading the driver so it doesn't support plug and play
(i must reboot to make it work but the network will stop working)

MLD 5.4 Stable Rpi3: Network problem
« Reply #10 on: December 02, 2018, 19:42:21 »
You must build the media stack driver by your own if you need it. How you can build MLD packages is described in the MLD Wiki. But that is not simple for newbies, especily driver packages are complicated.
MLD 5.5 - Raspberry PI - 7" Touch TFT - Squeeze Play
MLD 5.5 - lirc yaUsbIR - OctopusNet - XFX GeForce 9300 mit Intel E3200 - 2GB RAM - 12TB HDD - Lian Li PC-C37B - Samsung LE40A559

Okay, i got it.
Actually, i would like to build crazycat media build instead.
I just proved to you that dvb driver is not the proper driver for my dvb receiver.
It would be great if you can upload an alternative driver just like MLD 5.3 which got dvb + dvb-mb while MLD 5.4 there is one driver only.

This is not possible, since there is no way to build the dvb-mb driver for the MLD-5.4 kernel.

I'm talking about any other alternative driver of your choice.
- crazycat media build
or
- v4l-updatelee

The latter one was tested with

# Prof 7301, 7500, 8000
# TBS 6925, 5922, 5925, 5980, 6908, 6903
# Skystar 2 eXpress HD
# Genpix Skywalker-1
# Hauppauge 950Q, 955Q, Aero-m

It's also works with Skystar USB HD
In fact, i use that driver on my Ubuntu pc which works great.
