Hi,

Everyone is familiar with the above vdr-plugin-skincurses screenshot.
It looks like that (if it works properly)
In my case i only see a black window, no vdr menu ... nothing 
Why is that?

Do you test the server installation, where it is the default output skin? Or how is your setup?

I run everything from command line, i don't have any specific installation.
Mainly i use VDR as a client then i could turn it off then immediately run VDR server.
If skincurses works for you then i will delete the thread.

If you start the vdr with the "start vdr" command, the output and input of the skincurses comes from/to the console 5. Maybe it's the same if you use runvdr.
Only if you call the vdr direct with all needed options, the output will be shown on the local console.
I have not test the server installation (with the skincurses frontend) since month. Maybe there is an issue with this. I will test it today evening.

It's okay, you don't have to change your setup in order to test server installation.
You can just install skincurses then test it by running
vdr -Pskincurses
Please let me know if it works.

I now have test ist. You are right, the skin do not work. So anybody must check why it don't work.

There are no additional languages for MLD, since we have no translator for that. Witch language do you missing?

Hi,

Reagarding skincurses package, you just need to download vdr v2.40, copy skincurses folder from there then build it as usual.

Thank you for the hint. The vdr-2.4.0 version of the skincurses works fine. The problem with the 2.4.1 version is an update for the lib curses 6, but we are using version 5.

Is there file manager in MLD?

I mean you can use it to browse your USB/ Harddisk
Copy, paste, delete or edit files.
I think this is needed for people who are using desktop installation.

No, there is no file manager available, since the MLD is a media center distribution, and no desktop working station system. The only available filemanager is the midnight commander (mc) on the console.
If you want to manage files on the MLD, the typically way is to do this remote by samba or nfs.

I do not understand your problem with Chrome and the languages. If you are looking for dictionaries for other languages, I think you can install them by the Chrome add-on manager.

Too bad there is no file manager 
It would be nice if you can think about adding one which can be accessed from desktop apps menu.
I don't know if it's possible or not though.
I can access MLD already from Raspberry Pi using samba.
It's how i installed docker if you remember.

My Chrome problem isn't adding dictionaries.

Suppose, you want to write an email to someone from Russia Okay?
The email should be in russian language.
How can you do that if MLD supports english and german writing only?
