{MLD 5.4 testing}{MLD 5.5 Unstable} Samba problem
« on: August 04, 2020, 17:03:59 »

Hello,

Samba stopped working after i upgraded to Windows 10 v2004, i can't access MLD shared folders anymore.
How can i fix that?
Is it possible to release a samba update which is compatible with the new Windows 10 version?

Best Regards.

It seems it was not only me who has the same issue  :D

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/smb-sharing-not-working-after-windows-10-update/298f9988-ddd7-48dd-9924-a21541d98c05

Do i have to read the whole 10 pages to find a fix?  :o
Maybe there is no fix yet.

Is there anyone who uses Windows 10 v2004 here?

Do you test with MLD-5.5, since this may have a newer samba version.

Hi claus,

No, i didn't test MLD 5.5 yet, is it based on debian buster?
So, there won't be any update for MLD 5.4 x86/rpi anymore?

Yes it based on debian buster.
You can do an update from 5.4, but make an snapshot before, since this update do not work every time. To do the update, call the settings and change the version an set the class to unstable.

Hallo,

I have checked MLD-5.5 packages, there isn't dvb-mb package  :(
I read from the other thread that iptables - docker aren't working either.
So, i better wait for MLD-5.5 testing, i will ask Microsoft to fix samba  ;)

Mit besten Grüße

Very strange.
Anyway, dvb package failed to install coz of the following errors

I will repack and install it.

Best Regards.

That was fast, you fixed rpi package?
I thought you will fix dvb package  :)
By the way, i see many people who are testing MLD-5.5 why didn't anyone report that conflict?
What they're doing? repack it by themselves and stay silent?  :-X

Thanks Claus.

Hi Roland,

I'm talking about dvb package  :)
As i saw many people are using MLD 5.5, how did they even install it if it conflicts with rpi package?
So i thoght they recpack it themselves and then they don't care to report it to Claus.
I honestly don't know.

Best Regards.
