Is there any way to get sound through HDMI on Raspberry?? tried everything

And when I updated Kernel and Initramfs it Broke USB-DVB as well as a few other things like sound...., is there a way to revert back to Original kernel and Initramfs???

i've tried the latest rpi-client version today and hdmi sound works like a charm.

Hi eyeamok,

sure you can get sound through HDMI. My RPI is connected through HDMI to my TV.

But I had to change the following for getting sound: Menu --> System --> VDR Setup --> Plugins --> rpihddevice --> the second parameter has to be changed to "No" (the parameter name in German is "Digitalton durchreichen").

Before yo do any changes to your settings make a backup of your SD-Card. There is no need to use a diskimager. Just put your SD-card to a PC and use WinZip or Winrar to put the whole content of the card into an archive. Mark the drive letter of your SD-card then right click and put it to an archive or winzip container.
For restoring the "image" just enflate the archive back to the SD-card.
