Aber wie gesagt. Sobald es ne wirklich interessante Neuerung gibt, werde ich Bescheid geben.

Hi all!
It's my first post, thanks to all developer and comunity.
Excuse me, my german is too poor to explain what follows:

I have a 32 MB flash.
- The install script fail if flash is on hdc and cdrom is on hda. Due to the phisical size of the flash, I can't do otherwise.
My fix:
Skipped automatic installation, I did all step by step (partitioning, format, copy MLD).
But grub installation from menu fail because in my configuration grub maps hdc flash as as hd0, not hd2! Grub is intelligent!!
I started the system via live, I got a root console and I did a manual grub installation, replacing "vmlinuz" with "kernel" in /boot/grub/menu.lst, and doing:
GRUB> root (hd0,0)
GRUB> setup --prefix=/mld/boot/grub (hd0)
(I suggest to add a root console on (ALT+F2) to do some stuff by hand in "installation mode".)

Now I took the flash from pc and placed in SMT.
I can boot, but the framebuffer does not work. So, booting, I get no menu to choose the channel list, and after boot is complete, I get only vdr instruction about keys (volume, channel zapping,...) but nothing else.
Console is ok, vdr binary and their plugins are present.
The screen seems not a framebuffer console, but the a plain one.

it's no problem if you write in English, and thank you for your description.

As I see, you have solve the biggest problems. But now came the big disappointment. At the moment the MLD don't work for the SMT
It's right, we are working on this, and I hope, that it will work in feature (it worked some time ago a little bit), but it's vary complicated and also we have problems with other more important thinks like remote control and Wakeup.
Let me say, the smt aid is the next great issue I will build, but I will need a few weeks for this.

One is sure. If you like to wait (or come back), you will get a great system with a lot of nice features

Ops... MLD can't work now
I have experience only in debian etch for SMT.
But if can I be usefull, contact me freely, but I don't have a suse system.
When SVN will come back, I'll take a look to SVN version and source codes.

Hi johnnyrun,

at the moment the problem is the kernel and the graphic driver  configuration. If you like to work on this, you can have a login to our devel server. It's a gentoo system and no longer a SuSE like the base of the MLD-0.6.0

an excellent distribution for the smt running on flash you will find here
This forum is in german too. But perhaps you are able to read it.
The actual image is available with this download.
The Wiki is usefull for all questions related to this new distri.
My impression is that the author giga_san has learned a lot from the MLD and enhanced this concept with his own ideas and his specific knowledge of smt7020s hardware.

So, nur nen kurzer Status Bericht.
Ich hab's bei mir wieder am laufen. Allerdings sind die durchgeführten Kernelanpassungen noch nicht kompatibel mit normalen PCs. Ich hab mich auch noch nicht um die Ausgabe via DFB (softdevice-dfb) gekümmert, sondern erst mal wieder nur über FB (softdevice).
Das neue smt-7020s-Addon hilft also vorerst noch nicht weiter, da ja nen angepasster Kernel benötigt wird...

Ich hab's doch noch hin bekommen (glaub ich). Mit dem neuem Kernel und dem smt-7020s-Addon sollte nun die smt auch wieder funktionieren.

Den einzigen Fehler den ich gestern bei meinem Kurztest ausmachen konnte, ist das sich die Kiste nicht durch nen kurtzes Drücken auf den Power Button der FB abschalten ließ.
Eventuell gibt's noch Probleme mit der Bildwiederholfrequenz. Das fbset Tool hat mir ne Wiederholfrequenz von 54Hz ausgegeben was wohl nicht unbedingt das ist was nen normaler TV  mag. Meiner Capture Karte mit der Ich mir die Ausgaben der smt auf meinem PC anschaue, war's egal. Alternativ konnte ich das noch problemlos auf 60Hz einstellen, aber auch 50Hz sollten machbar sein, falls nötig.
Außerdem ist bei mir das OSD nach rechts verschoben, da rechts ca. 20 pixel abgeschnitten werden. Wenn das bei Euch auch so ist, würde ich entsprechende Voreinstellungen hinzufügen die das ausgleichen.

Und noch was neues. Ich konnte heute erfolgreich DFB (softdevice-dfb) aktivieren  :applaus
Damit gibt's nun die best mögliche Bildqualität und die Prozessorlast sinkt erheblich.
