Is This Dvb-s2 Supported?
« on: March 22, 2012, 18:12:23 »
Hello,
I have a question. Is TBS 5921 (USB QBOX S3) dvb-s2 is supported?
If is not - is there any way to be compiled/included?

thanks for your attention.

P.S there is lack of information on english and I use google to translate. Sorry if this is asked/explained

It seems, that there is a special driver needed, that is not supported from the v4l project. If this is right, the MLD don't support this receiver jet.
But the easiest way to check this, is to boot the MLD from CD and see if it's working it.

Hi,

have you try to copy the firmware to /lib/firmware/ and then restart the vdr (this will also reload the dvb drivers).
You can use the command "usbmodules dvb" to check if your card will be detected automatically. Also the detected driver will be the first in the list of available drivers in the "TV / DVB" setup in the OSD or webif.

@claus, dodgers card is not supported by v4l (media_tree)! -> no chance to get it running EXCEPT you will build the tbs drivers seperately

Hello and thanks for replays..

@MarMic - do you know why just this card is supported by v4l? TBS have alot of good working dvb cards.

@clausmuss - is there a chance to build this drivers seperately? In ubuntu compilation is very easy.. if you give me a hit how to compile it with svn kernel will be good. I'm using now ubuntu 10.10 with 3.0.0-16 kernel

Hi,

I have created now the dvb-tbs Addon. I'm not sure, but I think it can not be used at the same time as the dvb, the dvb-usb or the dvb-remote Addon.
If you find the time, it will be great, if you can check if it's also run, if you install the dvb-Addon after you have installed the dvb-tbs Addon.

Hello it's me again..
I think about drivers.. they are working on 99%.. what this mean.. in dvb-tbs drivers addon missing 1 file
The file is : tbsfe.ko  , this is frondend
in other linux system when I install drivers, with command lsmod i have - tbsfe, tbs5921fe, dvb-usb-tbsqboxs3 loaded
I check with modprobe to load it manually, but the file just missing.

@claus You do great job! with v.4 of dvb-tbs addon it's work perfect.
First i install dvb-tbs after playing some channels i add dvb and dvb-remote package.. still my system work. Btw my tbs remote is not detected.. i need to configure what driver i need.

edited: illegal in germany DO NOT ask again

and rotorng - this is plugin to rotate motored dish, source from http://projects.vdr-developer.org/attachme...ng-0.1.0.tar.gz
Is there problem to be imported in vdr addons?

Thanks again, this project is great!

hi dodgers,

first: do not ask again for the evil plugin because it is illegal in germany and most countrys in eu! you have to build it yourself. there is a wiki howto build plugins (with google tanslate I think it will help you maybe)

second: i think rotor was allready build
