I don't know, since it's hard to say, if the patch has any side effect.

Okay, will you update MLD kernel soon?
I could verify if the problem still persists or not.

No problem, please post another dvb-mb package if you could figure out why Skystar eXpress card is not recognized anymore.

Regards.

May be it's simple disabled in config file, since it's not compileable...

Unfortunately, i can't edit config file or try kernel 5.3.14 at the moment because i have compiled kernel 5.3.11 in MLD docker container.

You're right.
I don't need to re-comiple dvb-mb package for kernel 5.3.11 because it's already works and the tv-card is recognized.
But my USB headset will not work.

What I would say is, that the latest sources of the dvb-mb package should also work with the older kernel and the latest kernel. So if you want to test it with the older kernel you can compile your own package.
And if one dvb card do not work with the latest version of the dvb-mb package, it's maybe only a configuration issue.

Hi Claus,
I revert back to kernel 5.3.11 snapshot, compiled the latest dvb-mb package source for kernel 5.3.11 however skystar eXpress card isn't recognized although it was working using dvb-mb old package.
So, what's wrong?
Which configuration should i alter before compiling the new dvb-mb source?

Just compiled dvb-mb package for kernel 5.3.11 without applying the patch.
Skystar eXpress is recognized immediately after installing the package even without rebooting.

What dvb modules are used, if the dvb card works? Are the same modules loded if it not wirk? Or can you load the modules manually?

I have take a look at the patch. At one of the last lines I have removed the saa716x_ff support, since it is not compileable with the kernal internel mc audio driver.
So, if you need this driver, you can't use the dvb-mb driver. Or you try to fix the compile problem after you remove the last patch from the patch file starting at line 3570. I think that should be bossible. I have not take the time to do so, since there nearly nobody use a ff card today.

Thanks for the clarification Claus,
No modules were loaded manually,
I just compiled dvb-mb source without applying the patch, installed it then the dvb-card was recognized right away.

I have no idea what is saa716x_ff is, the card uses SAA716x Budget.

When you have time please try to compile dvb-mb source with and without the patch, extract them and make note of the missing modules after applying the patch.

Regards.

You misunderstand me. I want to know witch dvb modules are loaded if the dvb card works, and if it's possible to load them manualy if you use the not working dvb-mb package with contain the patch.
